What conditions can photorejuvenation treat?
Both the pleasures and stresses of life, along with the passage of time, tend to cause our skin to appear older. And the signs of photo-aging and sun damage are typically most visible of a persons face and body. While numerous treatments from single creams to major surgery exist to improve facial flaws, skin specialists have always sought dramatic improvement with low risk and no “down time”. Additionally, many conventional treatment options can only address on e condition at a time, while they entail a prolonged recovery time, considerable pain, and potential side effects.
Things to know:
Using the spectrum of IPL appropriate to the clinical objective, light energy is transformed to heat energy
Stop covering and concealing your skin imperfections and get back to the clear, youthful skin you desire quickly, easily, and with minimal downtime. It’s possible with the use of optimized-light photo rejuvenation. Pulsed light makes all the difference, because it targets undesirable brown pigment and red or purple blood vessels without harming surrounding tissue. An even skin tone can finally be yours.
The chromophore in the target tissue, such as haemoglobin or pigment, responds to the heat
What is Intense Pulsed Light?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is a treatment breakthrough that can correct a variety of benign skin conditions, such as facial skin perfections, the signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, unwanted hair, unsightly small veins and other blemishes. It offers a safe, non invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual skin condition and skin type, provided superior cosmetic results and outstanding satisfaction, through a new process called photorejuvenation.
Imagine reducing the effects of sun damage.
Photorejuvenation using IPL is a non- invasive treatment that treats skin damage without disruption of the skin surface, hence, no “down time”. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) can simultaneously treat a wide range of facial concerns safely and effectively, such as broken capillaries, benign brown pigment, spider veins on the face, age spots ( sun induced freckles), mottled pigmentation and poikiloderma.
How is Photorejuvenation performed?
A cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated, and you will be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the IPL handpiece is gently applied to the skin and pulses of light are applied. You might feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band. An anesthetic cream may be used, but is seldom required. Treatment is usually administered in a series of 4-6 sessions that provide excellent long term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction. Each treatment takes about twenty minutes.
Why are multiple treatments necessary?
Depending on the number of conditions that you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of 4- 6 treatments may be recommended. You cab return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk- and, it preserves the wonderful “no downtime” feature that people appreciate so much.
How do other treatments compare to photorejuvenation?
While there are lasers that treat telangiectasia and broken capilliaries, other lasers that treat benign brown pigments and others that are used for resurfacing facial skin, no technology provides the long- term improvement of complexion and texture of IPL skin treatments using the photorejuvenation program- all without the slightest interruption in your busy lifestyle.
IPL Photofacial refers to the use of intensepulsed light (IPL) to improve the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin, as well as reduce spots and redness, resulting in more youthful-looking skin.
IPL Photofacial treatments consistently and predictably improve the texture, tone and color of the skin with little to no down time. IPL also stimulates the growth of collagen, decreases pore size and gives skin a youthful appearance. Any area on the body, such as the chest (decollete), hands, arms, back, and legs can be treated with IPL Photofacial.
At The MedSpa at Women's Centre for Excellence, we perform Intense Pulse Light (IPL) photofacials. IPL photofacials can treat a variety of skin conditions such as brown spots, broken capillaries, spider veins, and facial redness. The process works by delivering a bright blast of light at very high energy levels through a hand-held device. IPL is the best type of photofacial treatment if you have brown spots, broken capillaries or facial redness. The number of IPL photofacials needed depends on the condition of the skin, the results wanted, and how the skin responds to each treatment. Numbing creams and cooling devices can be used to relieve any type of discomfort during the procedure. A Photofacial is a safe, common and quick procedure with little risk.
The target is fragmented and absorbed without damage to the surrounding tissue
